Windows [HELP] Game won't launch

I got it on steam. I had played it for like half an hour so not too long and then stopped playing it for a long time, but now when I press open its a black screen (Not covering the whole screen, just a small screen) and instantly closes. Sorry for the bad explanation.

hey I'm sort of having the same issue. I got a new computer and installed Steam + the game and stardew just won't launch. I've tried all of those steps in the wiki (and from that thread where ConcernedApe answered) and still nothing. The game is in my library and being shared so I don't know if that's what is causing the issue but when I try to launch on another laptop, it works just fine. It's on this new computer that it just refuses to launch.

The only thing I haven't been able to try is removing the "startup_preferences" folder as my file just doesn't seem to have it ? these are the only folders I've found on my windows.
