Windows [help] game crashes in skull cavern/mines

Hi! Has anyone experience the game crashing when they're in the skull cavern or mines? I'm playing on PC, with the latest version (1.5.6). I saw on some threads that a ring may cause the crashing. So I tried going to the skull cavern/mines without anything (clothes/rings/shoes/inventory) and it still crashes. I tried restarting my PC, I also un- and re-installed, and I removed mods that affects the areas (Ladder Locator and Skull Cavern Elevator). After doing the three, I lasted a level in the mines. I tried using a mega bomb in the next level and after placing my second bomb, it crashed. I tried again in the mines with a bomb, game crashed after placing the third bomb. My last trial, I went to the skull cavern, game crashed after a few steps in level 1.

My game is also crashing at times even when im playing in windowed mode.and its ridiculous and frustrating i tell you
