Solved [HELP] Can't re-join a multiplayer game on PC v 1.5.4

I played a game with friends but then had to leave for sometime and my housing was deleted.
Now the time has come to play again I tried to re-join the game, the host gave me a new access code but when I sign in with it I do not get the character selection screen
I then always start the game in their house with no character for me to control, see my tools but can't click on them either and time does tick away like it should. We have some mods going, any known issues here that causes this that I can't re-join a game I have been part of before?

If the cabin you originally joined through was removed, your character would have been removed as well. Did the host create a new cabin after that?

It's definitely possible a mod is causing the issue. The next time this happens, can you upload a SMAPI error log? Ideally the host of the game could do this to. See https://smapi.io/log for instructions.

It looks like there are a few mod updates available, I'd start there. You can also have the person hosting the game for updates on there end and make sure everything is updated for them. It's also possible their SMAPI log may show additional error information.

I did the updates as suggested, made some progress as in the house I start in looks different...but still same issues....here's a screen shot btw to show what I see after I enter the join a network game code.....(again, no selection, customizing of character screen)

after the host was updating everything too and a few times signing in and out of steam, the game we finally made it....it works.....Thank you Odin for your help!!
