iOS [HELP] Can’t donate to museum (iPad)

When I click on donate to museum it shows my inventory and I can select an item such as quartz. Once selected it shows the “ghost” of the item and I can move it over the display cases but can’t put it down anywhere. I have tried multiple different items and positions in inventory as some have suggested without luck.

After you choose "donate to museum" , tap one of the visible items to select. Then tap a highlighted slot on the display shelves to put it down.

Dragging the item doesn't let you place it.
