Grass in winter

I just discover many things since the update and today I saw grass in winter for the first time. I love it because it looks sooo beautiful.
My question is if I can make hay of this winter grass. In the Wiki I do not find anything about it. Is it a bug or did nobody write about it until now?
Does it grow? On another farm I have I did not see it but I already was in winter when the update came out.
This is one of my favourite things from the update.

You can make hay, but it won’t grow in winter.

The grass is very beautiful in winter, I agree. You can cut it down for hay if you want. It doesn't grow/spread like in other seasons, though, so once you cut it, it's gone.

I think my silo was full but I will only make hay when I do not have anything because it really looks beautiful.

No it does not grow

Yes it can be cut into hay, but not as effectively. This is in the wiki, but the particulars are vague:

"It is recommended that enough hay be stored before winter to feed the farm's animals for the entire 28-day season, since cutting grass in winter produces less hay than in the growing seasons."

The best part of this is Grass will continue to spread the following Spring and beyond so you don't lose your Grass investment over Winter. And like when you plant Grass Starters on Winter 28, the existing Grass will do the same huge Grass explosion on Spring 1.

This was always something that was difficult in spring in year 2 and all the years following because there was not enough grass on spring 1st. Now there will be grass all over when winter is over.

Even if you're completely out of grass on Winter 28th for whatever reason, you can plant some Grass Starter (recipe from Pierre) that day and each Starter will explode into a pretty nice pool of Grass on Spring 1. It's probably my favorite of all the wonderful game mechanics. It was ideal before the v1.6 change but still useful afterwards. It only takes ~2 dozen Starters to cover half the Standard Farm with Grass.

There are also blue butterflies in winter that give some light like the fireflies in summer. They have no use but it looks like a winter dreamland now.
