Switch Golden Walnut Count wrong

So I have a save file where I had the walnut glitch. I haven't played on it in a long while, but the last time I did a few days ago, I found a walnut.

It said I've only found 3 walnuts now, but hitting spaces I know there is one isn't doing anything so clearly I've already found them.

My count apparently reset down to two walnuts.

Is there any way around this or is my save essentially corrupted thanks to this?

Seeing as you've had this problem for a while you've probably done this already, but have you tried opening chat (tap R joystick) and typing in /recountnuts to see if that fixes it?
