PlayStation Ginger Island Achievement Bugged 1.6

Not sure if this is just a console issue or not but I’m playing on PS5 and cannot get this achievement to unlock with the new update. I’m on my main save file in year 10 and already have the island unlocked. I’ve tried going to the bottom of the dangerous mines in the valley, I’ve completed Qi’s quest for it, tried going back the day after completing it and still nothing. Now, when I first updated my game and went to Ginger Island it did give me the Dangerous Mines achievement instead so I’m thinking they’re switched but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to trigger the other one.

So, think of the trophy trigger like raising a flag. Once it goes up the pole, it keeps flying and there's no longer a way to take it down.

You raised the flag for "A Distant Shore" when it was erroneously swapped with "Danger in the Deep", and even though you got the Dangerous Mines trophy, the Ginger Island flag is going to stay raised because as far as the game knows you've already done it in that playthrough.

Meaning if you return to the mines, as you did, all you're doing is raising the Danger in the Deep flag, which as far as the game is concerned, you already have the trophy and it can't trigger twice.

That's as much sense as I can make of the situation, anyway. It sucks for those in your situation who will have to do another playthrough if they want to trigger the trophy properly. That's part of why I stopped playing the game in December. It's too damn buggy to mess around with right now. And that's why I'm so vocal about the issues plaguing it-- I want to see it fixed up and stabilized ASAP

Ah that was something I was afraid of but thank you for clarifying! Currently working on my second file (the forbidden joja route) to get the island unlocked. Hopefully in the future there’s a patch but I know CA is probably busy working on the new game.
