Gifting Clothes to your husband/wife

Hmmm, yes I could marry Alex in order to unlock those opportunities. Oh sure, same for Shane, Haley, whatever, but yeah Alex. And over the course of the Summer he should slowly acquire those tan lines so I see them when he's working out in his corner of the yard.

I do wish you could gift hats to your spouse. It would be interesting if there were certain hats each NPC liked and disliked, and would only wear a hat if they liked that one.

A spouse should have his/her own dresser. So the player can fill it too and the spouse selects from it (maybe different depending on the day or event).
