Geode opening noises at Clints?

So after Clint cracks each geode, a little song/trill happens after each one, or a 'clunk'. Is there any pattern to which ones get the clunk vs the trill? I though it was just rocks, but now I think it's just random. Does anyone know what the code looks like on the PC or ? Been curious!

I initially thought minerals got the trill and resources got the clunk, but now I'm thinking it might have to do with the value of the item.

i think value is the right choice. i now the item is not wrote in concrete. i opened a geode and had 5 iridium bits. i had to restart that day and the geode did not have any iridium next time.

I dunno exactly how it works but my assumption would be that the game rolls for whatever is inside each geode at the moment Clint cracks it open. I don't think they're seeded, but I could be incorrect

Geode contents are seeded, but it also depends on which type of geode you are opening. So if you have two different kinds and change which one you open first, you'll get something different.

I know that the colored purple background is based on the value of the contents, but I haven't paid attention to the accompanying sound. It may correspond.

I thought I only ever saw that on diamonds. Like they're being presented on velvet or something.

Mousey Pounds' predictor has a pretty good description of the algorithm, and I am grateful that they have broken their brain on it so we don't have to, because it's more brain breaking than the enchantment cycle.

This is it iirc, anything over a set value gives the 'treasure sound' vs the standard sound for stuff like basic mining goods and really low value minerals like mudstone

Cutoff is probably something like 100g, haven't done any testing myself or looked into the game itself however
