Most of the houses in town have electrical outlets and the tv in George & Evelyn's house has a long power cable visible. There are also electrical outlets & light switches available in the furniture catalog. While there isn't too fine a point put on it, electricity is definitely used in the game world.

It's sort of like how Caroline mentions their water bill occasionally but you never have to worry about yours in-game.

same goes for the mysterious nonexistent bathrooms

I like to put heaters in Leah's place, Elliot's place, Leo's tree, and Linus' tent. But the one in Linus' tent will disappear as he walks over it. It would be nice if there was a little interaction that destroys the actual decoration and changes the tiles in the tent to add the heater as part of it, so the 'heater' can remain there.
