game quits to desktop. oh dear.

Hi
long time player of Stardew.
recently started playing with stardew valley expanded + frontier farm and UI info suite 2.
used to have a couple of other mods but have removed them to try and solve the issue.

The game plays fine, for hours even. but when i come back and load a save it quits after a few seconds to a few minuets of game play.

i have uninstalled, reinstalled. removed, deleted mods and re downloaded and installed. deleted saves and restarted a few times.

any help much appreciated.

It seems like a silent fail, as there are no errors even in the error log. Try starting SMAPI as admin and check if your antivirus system blocked SMAPI. What operating system are you using?

thanks for the reply.
im using win 11 and the Nexus vortex mod manager if that makes a difference. was using it just fine with UI info suite 2, Visible fish and a few other mods. only had this issue since started using SDV expanded and the associated mods.

It seems my issues are not the mods, but the xbox one controller. a lot of people seem to have various issues when using a Bluetooth controller. my game now works if i play the first day after loading with keyboard and mouse, then use the controller with a wired connection.
