Hello! I am looking for some mod/smapi support, I have already posted in the SMAPI reddit and Discord, but was hopeful yall might have some insight as well :)
I have been trying to download the Ridgeside Village mod and others to play but it is not working. Initially, I had just ridgeside village and the mods needed for it installed and my game kept crashing everytime I started to create my character. Once, I was able to get to the actual world by doing ctrl/alt/delete and then exiting from that menu to help it load. I added more mods after that and now every time I launch the game it wont let me get past clicking the "load" button before my computer freezes and forces a restart or I need to manually restart. When it freezes, the screen will go black, and nothing works until I force a restart. I have tried waiting the black screen out in hopes that it loads, but that doesn't work.
I don't know what to do. This is my second time trying to install everything, I did it last night and the same thing happened.

my gaming laptop is newish, less than a year old. I have been able to run expanded with multiple mods added to that before the big update, and I am able to run minecraft with multiple mods, a shader and a resource pack. So I am not sure it is a matter of the mods being too big.
ANY help is appreciated. I might not be around my computer right away to respond as I am going out in a bit. thank you anyone who takes the time to read this!!
