Switch Full inventory stuck with pause community center menu

I spent a bunch of time in the mines and filled my inventory and went to check what I still needed at the community center through the pause menu. I accidentally clicked on one of the items and picked up something else because the spot was “empty” because I had an item “in my hands.” The problem is that I can’t exit this menu at all and I can’t place anything in the community center slots from here or delete an item. I made a lot of progress in the mines and had to reload from my last save, which on the switch is the beginning of the day. After doing some quick googling, it seems like this has been an issue since 2016. Five years is a long time to have a bug that doesn’t get fixed. Is there every going to be some sort of fix for this?

You have to realize, some bugs never get fixed. Bugs are usually categorized by developers, and ones where you could avoid the bug entirely by not engaging in a certain behavior, in this case picking up stuff with a full inventory with other stuff around while in the CC menu, are usually labelled lower priority than ones that lock off portions of the game from people through literally no fault of their own, like the golden walnut count bug. Yeah, I know that from your perspective, because of the circumstances, it really sucks. Really, I get it, but I'm guessing it's not likely to be fixed super soon if it has gone this long being considered not important enough to fix so far. Really, the only good to come out of this is that you know not to do it again.

i got the same problem but you can get out of it
you got the extra item in your hand now click somthing else except the pop up and it will let the item fall
