Windows Fps drop until usign sword (block) ability

I have had this problem practically since I bought the game, and it is solved by downloading the beta "legacy version XNA 32x" but if i use that version of the game I cannot use smapi, so there is another way to solve this problem without having to change the version of the game?

Hi, did you manage to solve it?
I have the same problem. I've tried everything and nothing works. I always use the secondary sword skill to normalize the game, but doing it all the time is boring.
I don't know what else to do.
I just wish I could play with my mods :(

Problem persists in 1.6. Modded or not.
