Fishing rods

Are you able to set fishing rods on tables for display? I’ve tried but I could be doing something wrong

I don't think you can put tools on display, but if you can then it's news to me

No, unfortunately you can't, maybe 1.7 will bring some kind of tool display or tool stand so we can hang them on the wall

I mean in the very beginning of the game, when you visit Grandpa in the initial cutscene and he gives you the envelope. He has a number of items from Stardew Valley on display, including a sword on the wall.

For that one, I'd like to point you to the wall sword and decorative sword being for sale at the Adventurer's Guild. Though I agree that it would be nice if they were interactive like the signs, so you could change their appearance to the weapon or tool you were holding.

I see. I almost never buy swords so I haven't looked at those wares. I was interested in displaying my own swords, not buying a plaque to put on display. Some of them have sentimental value.

yeah it would be really nice to see a dedicated sword mantle we could put weapons on (or allow mannequins/scarecrows to hold them), instead of simple old signs which don't really have the same emphasis
