Switch Fish Smoker Crafting Bug on the Switch [v1.6.15 build 11]

So the game on the Switch got an update today. I'm in the mines behind Robins on floor 40-50 harvesting hardwood. When I go to make a bomb, I see that I can craft a fish smoker, but I don't have any jellies on me. So I craft it, it then only uses my hardwood. Thinking that maybe there is some kind of updated crafting system, I leave the mines and check my jellies in my chests, and none where gone. I then go back in the mines with more hardwood and craft around 200 fish smokers. Not complaining, but is definitely a bug. Update(It seems to use geodes as jellies. I had a bunch of geodes from the skull cavern on me so i didnt notice it using them. Also seems to use mystery boxes as well. Also works outside of mines.)

If you had a Horse Flute in your inventory at the time check to see if you still have it. I’m having a similar crafting bug where the game is counting my Horse Flute as a resource for recipes when I don’t have the items needed to craft.

Didn't touch it. It's weird, I went in there with nothing but hardwood, and it didn't work. But after find a few geodes, it popped up again and used them. Even when I only had 1 geode and 10 hardwood it still crafted it.

The issue occurred on 12-27-25 on the switch. I was trying to create a bomb to free professor snail when I seen that the recipe for the fish smoker was available. I knew that I didn’t have the jellies for that. So, my curiosity got the better of me, and I pressed it. I looked in my inventory to see that one of the 5 dragon tooth went out of my inventory. So after I empty out all the important items from my inventory, I seen if I could still happen. That was a yes and no… I didn’t happen until I checked out the work bench in my shed, which I indulge in finishing off the amount that I needed forgetting to take note of what went out. I am unsure if it was a glitch or a system update.

I also have this issue! It also allowed me to make deluxe worm bins with 297 non-existent regular worm bins. I do not have access to hardwood yet in this file, and haven't even made a regular one yet! I made 6 of them. Some of my sea and river jellies were used up in this construction, but I couldn't see what else was used.

Seems like it might also be relevant: this is when crafting from a workbench

This is happening to me too! I’m kinda happy because farming the jellies sucks… also crafting from workbench. I have 2 of the jellies but none were consumed in the 15 fish smokers I crafted :) muahahaha!

I just had this happen to me! It consumed the correct amount of hardwood and then 3-4 field snacks haha
I had enough jelly in my inventory to make two smokers and I ended up with 10.

Craft bug- green algae and white algae are showing up as sea jelly, cave jelly, and river jelly when crafting. Meanwhile, those jellies are counting as moss.
Example: I was using my workbench (it should be noted that this bug happens when crafting without the bench as well) and I noticed that the fish smoker was available to craft. I knew I didn’t have any cave jelly so that confused me. I crafted one to check this. It said I had 147 each of River jelly, cave jelly, and sea jelly to start with and I know I didn’t have those as that would take serious effort to get that many. When I crafted the smoker, it used the proper amount of hardwood but used 3 each of the “147” jellies each I had, bringing it down to 144 of each.
While I love the idea that the smoker is easier to craft, it feels like cheating, so I’d love a fix.
This happened on Nintendo Switch with everything being updated to the most current version.

Would also like to add that I noticed coffee is counting as jellies as well. There are other things but I haven’t been able to isolate them all yet.

I just have Hardwood on the inventory, but inside the crafting option, it appears as if it also has all the jelly items.

The same thing happens with the mushroom log; the game allows me to craft it even without moss.

I play on Nintendo Switch version 1.6.15.11 on 2 player local-coop.

This seems to be a bug effecting switch, I was able to craft the smoker using nothing but hard wood and interestingly enough crab pots
