Farmhouse Upgrade Year 1

Wiki states that farmhouse can be upgraded during year 1 for 4,500g and no wood, or during year 2+ for 22,500g, pursuant to the "Note" I've copied below:

Notes
  • Instead of gathering 450 wood for the Farmhouse Upgrade 1, it can all be purchased at the Carpenter's Shop during year 1 for 4,500g, or during year 2+ for 22,500g. The total cost for the upgrade would then be 14,500g in year 1, or 32,500g in year 2+.
  • The kitchen sink can be used to refill the player's watering can.
DOES THIS NOT WORK ANYMORE?

You might be misreading this. 4.500g is the price of the wood, the total cost would be 22.500g.

whereas in year 2+, wood prices go from 10 to 50g, so it gets much more expensive to buy the wood.

You need to buy the wood first, then go into the upgrade house menu to upgrade.

Yeah as Ereo said, the base upgrade cost for the first house upgrade is 10,000g, but you also need to supply 450 wood. This is always free if you go out and chop it down manually, but if you choose to instead buy the wood, it'll be more expensive in year 2+ because the price of wood goes from 10g to 50g per.

So in year one that's 10,000 + 450(10) = 14,500g
And in year two it's 10,000 + 450(50) = 32,500g

Slightly unrelated but does that really say that you can refill the watering can at the kitchen sink? WHAT? You learn something new every day huh

Yup! You can also use the water trough in the greenhouse and any fish ponds you've built. But you can't fill it at other people's sinks. I think I also tried it in Caroline's tea room and failed there, but am not sure.
