FanFic: Seven Years Later

Soooooooo...... I promise im still working on my other thing but I got hit with inspiration and really wanted to do a aged-up Jas-Vincent-Leo thing
Some notes: They're about 15-16 in this, and I kinda guessed how old they're in the actual game. Liberties were taken! Also, I had the farmer adopt Leo instead of him living in a tree (???) because seriously. what.

lmk what you thing!

Chapter 1:

It had been seven years since the farmer moved in, universally considered the beginning of time for the town's residents, a sort of “anno domini” if you will. Jas thought it was stupid. She liked the farmer lots, but she didn’t think that she was Jesus or something. Marnie said that she was too young to remember what the town was like before Stevie moved in, and therefore couldn’t have an opinion on the topic, which would have been reasonable if Jas had been four instead of 8-almost-9, and plenty old enough to remember the town, thank you very much.

Jas sighed. A lot had changed in those seven years. The obvious things like the community center and movie theatre, sure, but also Leo moving in and everyone sort of remembering that they had a life and progressing with their goals and stuff. Her uncle, Shane, had actually moved out, something Jas had started to believe wasn’t possible. He was living across the town with Harvey and still not paying rent, which Jas thought was ridiculous. Sam and Sebastion were also gone, having moved to ZuZu together after “Sam finally gained some balls and asked Seb out”, as Vicent so eloquently put it. He had the right to be annoyed, Jas thought, having watched them flirt awkwardly with each other for most of his life. Emily married the farmer, Stevie, and Haley lasted about a week in the empty house before generously insisting Alex stay in Emily’s old room so he wouldn’t have to live with his grandparents.

A knock at the door startled Jas out of her thoughts.

“Come on, Jas. We don’t have all night,” Vincent called through the door. Jas finished applying her lip gloss and opened the door. Vincent was leaning in the doorway, looking bored. She ran her eyes over him appraisingly, nodding.

“You look good.”

Vincent rolled his eyes. “Let’s go.”

They exited the house, Jas calling a goodbye to her aunt as she left. Vincent’s car was outside, and she let herself into the passenger side. By the time Vincent walked around the driver's side, she had already commandeered the radio, filling the car with bubblegum-y pop. Vincent made sure to let her know how he felt about this development with a series of increasingly charming side-eyes, but let it play anyway. Jas grinned victoriously.

They arrived outside the farmhouse before the song ended, and Jas leaned precariously out the car window to call to Leo.

“Leo!” She yelled shrilly. “Get your butt out here!”

A mass of curly brown hair popped out of a second-floor window.

“On my way!”

Leo’s lived with Stevie and Emily for six years now. He’s been pretending that his Ginger Island days never happened, which Jas thinks is valid. If she had been raised by birds she probably wouldn’t be advertising that either.

He joined them in the car a minute later, dressed in a red knit sweater and eyeliner. It’s a good look on him, Jas thinks.

Vincent adjusts the mirror and turns to the back. “Everyone ready?”

They both nod.

“Great,” He grins. “Let’s get out of here.”
