The other nice thing with an early focus on fishing is that, if fortunate enough, you might also snag a Neptune’s Glaive or Broken Trident from a fishing chest while still low level.

Getting one of the weapons is by no means guaranteed. But if you do, you can TEAR through the mines just obliterating any enemies until you’re deep into Iron territory.

and if you don’t get a weapon, but do snag a Dino Egg, or a Prismatic Shard? That’s quite acceptable, too.

Fishing is honestly your best bet early on, but you end up doing it from Day 2-5, and most of the time you are just stocking up for the backpack upgrades. The other way to get money is just getting enough strawberry seeds to get enough money for the other backpack upgrade.
