The cost for a stable can be steep if you didn't plan accordingly, along with the flute, but I think it is worth it.

I now have a horse Sinmenon, and though I still forget sometimes to hop on him after footing it for so long, I definitely enjoy the advantage of going faster. And the inconveniences like having to get off to pick up things or grab artifacts, along with slightly more difficulty maneuvering around things are very minor.

You really need a horse. Take it from me who has also prolonged getting a horse because I thought it's just a luxury but after getting one, I realized that it was actually a necessity. I already have the return scepter and even the complete obelisks but the horse is still necessary. I use it even when I am just inside the farm.
