Do fruit trees in greenhouses age?

I mean that all my trees are at the edge of the greenhouse, not on the tillable soil in the middle.
...and they go up in quality every 2 seasons? Yeah, either your game is glitching there or mine is.

Wow. What did I start?

I can confirm that I played up to 15 Summer Year 3 tonight, and the quality of the fruit changed! I didn't know the tree's maturity time counted *before* the quality timer began.

So the correct schedule is:

Plant ---28 days---> Mature ---1 year---> Better Quality

That is the behavior I see both inside and outside the greenhouse, yes.

So you (probably?) both agree that a tree planted in the hoeable area with a crop or sprinkler beside it will not age. Shneekey, it's been a while since I've looked at your greenhouse posts, I'm not sure if you've tried putting stuff in garden pots next to the trees on the edges of the greenhouse?
in 1.4 the rules for that changed:

  • Fruit trees no longer need the surrounding tiles to be empty to increase in quality once fully grown.
