Before you go pointing me towards the Wiki, please hear me out. Plainly and simply, the "Check/Do Action" (i.e. right-click, X) and "Use tool or place item" (i.e. left-click, C) don't work— specifically the keyboard keys "C" and "X" in the IU menus, preventing me from using keyboard only because I can't use my right hand for the mouse. I'm not sure if this is a problem on my end if someone can confirm to me if it is? But I remember it working or I got it working when I last played roughly 2 years ago. I have searched relentlessly for a solution online but have come to nothing. The best I can do is using the trackpad which is awkward and slow. If you don't have a solution for me, you could try to test to see if it doesn't work for you as well because at the moment I am unsure if this problem is only on my PC because I don't have another computer to test.
On PC, after loading the save game, go to menus tab, change "Gamepad Mode" to "Force On" and then tick "Use Controller-Style Menus". And then check if you can use C and X in the menus like grabbing an item for example.
