Windows Crash while using Incubator (and other machines)

When I use the incubator in the coop the game pauses (briefly) then crashes out of the entire game. This has happened before in previous saves when I was using a mushroom log. At the time I simply stopped playing hoping a patch would fix this since I saw the problem mentioned by others. I am now using a new computer and had hoped that this new download of the game would have this fixed but no such luck.
I am running version 1.6.15 build 24356
There is no error text.
I am using Windows 11 on a desktop, I purchased and run the game through GOG
I use a mouse and keypad
I have attached the error file
Any help would be most welcome since this is one of my most replayed games and not using various machines makes this unplayable.

It looks like there are several other instances of this reported in the past two years. Is the fact that there are no resolutions listed mean that I am doomed?

One more addition. Since I noticed all of the other descriptions of the same problem seemed to involve GOG I decided to try and purchase the game again through Steam (although after only playing for 3456 hours on GOG, I'm not sure I got my money's worth the first time- obviously that is sarcasm and given the quality of what I have gotten form this game I really didn't mind paying for it again). And importantly it worked, the Steam version loaded my GOG save game file and when I went to use the incubator and other machines I had no problem. So if someone tries to fix this it has something to do with the GOG system, and something to do a change made it since the last major update.

when you play the GOG version, do you use the launcher every time out do you launch stardew directly? If you’ve been using the launcher it would be interesting to see if it also happens without it.
