Composting

I’ve been thinking recently that a composting feature in the game would be pretty cool.
I think it would best work like this:
First you have to craft a composter/composting bin (possibly out of wood and stones).
Next you would put an item in there like a crop or foraged item.
Then after a certain amount of time you would get back a random amount of a random fertiliser (kind of like the worm bin).

I like your idea. Any farmer worth their salt knows how important composting is.

I'm actually surprised that the game does not include a composter given that there is a recycling machine.

You may be interested to know there are a couple mods that add composting:

Composter (JA and PFM)

The Composter produces quality fertilizer from sap and fish. May also produce extra Fertilizer for higher quality fish, and rarely produces Speed-Gro/Deluxe Speed-Gro.
