Community Wishlist for 1.7 Update

I haven’t gone through all of the comments yet. However, I would love too see more npc growth in relationships ie. if you don’t marry Emily her and Clint’s relationship would grow. I’d love to see Marnie and Lewis relationship escalate so they wouldn’t have to hide it anymore. I think Sandy needs herself a person. She’s lovely. Also, Penny really needs her own place away from Pam if you don’t end up marrying her. It’s so sad to see how hurt she looks. Just some suggestions! <3

That would be a great addition to the game, indeed!

As for myself, like I said in another topic, I have little expectations for update 1.7 because the game feels already very complete as it is. I would prefer ConcernedApe to focus on Haunted Chocolatier.

However, if I have to make suggestions, I would like:
  • A animation for bee houses when they are processing, like small busy bees flying around it or at least a buzzing sound where the farmer is near the bee house
  • A way to remove/disable the golden parrot and Fizz from Ginger Island. I totally understand why there are there from a game design point of view (to provide an alternate way for some players to enjoy every aspect of the game), but as SDV story arc strongly shows Joja as evil, having such immuable representatives of evil in a place that is supposed to be virgin, feels very strange and even anti-climaxing. If at least the farmer could make them leave, the same way she does with Joja Mart or if they could be removed once all golden walnut are found/perfection is achieved...
  • An extended or simplier way to prevent regular trees to become green rain trees in autumn: placing a tapper on them is too expensive. I don't like the design of the green rain trees.
  • A new special weather event, like the green rain: the fog, that would occur for one or two days in autumn only. During fog, all kind of mushrooms, but magma cap, would sprout in bigger quantity everywhere in the valley for foraging, but they would be harder to spot due to the fog that would greatly reduce visibility on screen. Everything else remain as usual during fog, except villagers that may have some specific dialogs. Fog counts as a sunny day.

I think that having :umbrella: fog weather would be cool! With not so blinding mechanics as in your example, but a partly blinding instead, but I like the idea.

I would love a new pet bowl design that is more suited to my purple turtle. Or at least more customization for it. Like how we can paint some buildings, I'd love to change the floor and the bowl to custom things instead of just having 3 preset choices.

I have another idea. I love, love, love what glymr has added with the Broken Farmhouse mod and xiddav with the Little Red Schoolhouse mod and the Restore Hat Mouse's House mod by BSavage81. With the vanilla game all we get is repair the community center, fix this bridge, clear these fallen rocks and anything that needs to be built is done by paying Robin to do it. With their mods we get more things to do ourselves, things that take more effort and add more immersion (I guess). I would really love for there to be more of that in the next update. Not just simply unlocking stuff but actual involved effort to building, repairing, and accessing the add-ons (desert, ginger island).

Hello Stardew Valley Players!
This post is here for the sole purpose of you sharing whatever you want for 1.7 update. (If ConcernedApe ever does release a 1.7 update of course)
I have taken the time to research a lot of things that people want, with a few things that I threw in.
If you want your idea to be added to the list just post it in the comments down below, I will try to add it to the list as fast as I can!
This post is going to be pretty long so be prepared!

Farm and Building Changes:
  1. Farm Upgrades - Adds the ability to buy farm upgrades from Robin, allowing players to upgrade the size of the farm. There is plenty of space to the left of the farm (Other than Riverland and Beach farm) which could be where the farm upgrades would expand on. This extra space could allow for a darker environment, possibly allowing players to grow mushrooms. (Yes, I know that there's a mushroom cave option)
  2. Pools - Adds pools to Robin's store, allowing players to host pool parties with NPCs certain days. The pool could also be used as a Spa, allowing players to regenerate energy and health. It would also have an option allowing players to change which material it looks like (i.e. stone, smooth stone, plastic, etc.)
  3. Large Silo - Moves the Silo's storage up to 450-500 storage space. This would let players focus more space on other things than more silos.
  4. Bigger Fruit/Mushroom Cave - For every pickaxe upgrade that you get you can break a stone in the fruit/mushroom cave, giving you more space where they generate.
Cosmetic Additions:
  1. Horse Customization - The ability to change the horse's color, mane, pattern, etc. (Yes, I know that you can put hats on your horse)
  2. More Prismatic Clothing - Adds Prismatic Skirt, Dress, and possibly more Prismatic hats.
  3. More Hairstyle Options - Adds more hairstyle choices (Pretty self-explanatory)
  4. More Accessories - Adds more accessory choices, such as more bows, hats, and headbands.
  5. Town Decorations - Adds buyable decorations for the town, such as statues, seasonal decorations, etc. Also, the ability to move the fountain or change how it looks.
  6. Community Center Themes - Allows players to change the theme of the Community Center, some such themes could be Cottage, Goth, Cave, Future, etc.
Decorations:
  1. More Seasonal Decorations - It would add more seasonal decorations to the game, mostly all the seasonal decorations are flowers. An example of this could be a decoration that changes to Easter Egg Basket for Spring, Balloons for Summer, Carved Pumpkins for Fall, and Candy Canes for Winter.
  2. More Outdoor Decorations - Adds more outdoor decorations. I personally think we need larger lamps for outside, it always looks funny that indoor lamps are larger than outdoor lamps.
  3. More Fences - Adds more fences for your farm, such as a Crystal Fence.
Events:
  1. More Dialogue Events - More character events to have with NPC, giving you more story to the game.
  2. More Character Lore - Gives more backstory to NPCs
  3. More Seasonal Events - I personally think that there is enough, but this post isn't about me. It seems like people want more seasonal events, I sadly couldn't find the ideas that they had for this.
NPCs:
  1. Add More Romanceable NPCs - Add more romanceable NPCs, and overall more NPCs.
  2. More Character Lore & Dialogue Events - I covered this in Events
Animals:
  1. More Animals - I can't really think of any new animal to add, but I have seen this request everywhere. I will let the comments on this post decide
  2. Animal Variants - Adds more Animal Variants to the game, such as Muddy Pig, Snowy Rabbit, etc.
  3. Wildlife Interaction - Some people have shown interest in adding the ability to interact with the wildlife, and possibly catching them to add to your barn/coop.
  4. More Food Choices - More choices than hay as food for your animals, maybe adding the ability to feed them special food which ups the amount of produce that they produce in a day.
  5. More Pets - Adds more pet choices into the game, such as raccoon  (I really want a raccoon pet)
Mines:
  1. Dwarf Mines - We have seen a mine that looks like a Dwarf Mine in the pre-release images of Stardew Valley (I sadly couldn't find the image, but you can see it on Salmence's Video at 6:38) This mine would look very cool, with lots of lava.
  2. Skull Caverns Quest Board - Add a Quest Board for the Skull Caverns, giving you rare rewards for every 50 or 100 mines down. (Yes, I know that Qi and the Desert Festival have quest-like boards but they aren't the best)
  3. Mine NPCs - Adds the ability to see random NPCs in the mines, and when I say random I mean random. NPCs who don't even live at Pelican Town.
Food:
  1. Cooking Minigame - Whenever you cook a dish it makes you play a small minigame, like how it does when you fish.
  2. More Dishes - Just adds more dish choices, I don't think we need this but a lot of people have been bringing it up on Reddit 🤷‍♂️
Combat: (I don't think these matter, since HC will be focusing around this... probably)
  1. Bosses - Adds bosses to Skull Caverns, possibly every 50 or 100 mines.
  2. More Enchants - Adds more enchant options.
  3. Better Combat System - Let's be real, this is never getting added to SDV.

That's all that I can think of today!
Again, please tell me what you have on your wishlist for if Stardew Valley ever gets updated for 1.7!

Stay safe out there all of you! :duck:
Warmest Regards,
WitherinRoseYT

(This is not the place to get into arguments, if you wish to get into an argument then please do it in a private conversation between you and that person. I am also not saying that 1.7 will be released, and if it is then it will probably be sometime after HC or once ConcernedApe has made significant progress on HC.)

More Ideas:
Since I'm lazy, I will be posting other people's ideas in Spoilers under this message.
1, more realisum for NPC relationships
Eg- if you marry Hayle, Emily will visit her once a week when she isn't working.

2, expanding on our spouces area

Eg - Sebastian has a pc in his room at Robins, that he is often sat in front of when you visit him. He's always working on his programmes, but after he marrys our characters, he is never again seen using his PC, dispite saying he's been working on programming his games when you talk to him in the evening. Expanding the spouse area to add things like a Pc for Sebastian as well as moving his D&D board into the PC room rather than replacing it with the frog's pen, a dark room for Hayle, gadget room for Maru, practice area for Abbey to practice her swordsmanship or play computer games. A gym for Alex, a music room for Sam to practice with Abbey and Sebastian. A writing area for Elliott, a sculpting area for Lea, a chill zone and crafting room for Emily

Emily could even randomly make a new outfit for you once in a while if you have a dresser in the house, she could also be programmed to ask the player if they can give her some cloth if our farm has Rabbits or Sheep.

Sam could be programmed to give the player new music to listen to because he and the band have come up with a new song, it could be added to a new type of jukebox, or a sterio with cassettes that you can insert to listen to his music.

Hayle could develop pictures to be placed around the house, maybe based off of our screen shots we take. Or ahe could even develop the photos she took as part of her 6 heart event at Marnies Ranch to put arpund the house. Maybe even a wedding photo, or things like the Moonlight Jellies or photos of Hayle and our character at some of the other events like the Luau.

Abbey could add different coloured slims to a slim hutch if you have one. Saying how she found them while exploring. Or if not that, she can be found on rainy days playing her flute, so instead of no music being played on those days, you have Abbey playing her flute instead. (In the house or outside), she could even frame sone of her drawings like her Orc with the battle axe, or her tiger to place in the house as decorations.

Elliott, when he's not writing likes to care for plants. Maybe he could add new plant type decorations to the house, that aren't obtainable any other way, like a rose, a venus flytrap or a bonsai tree

Lea like Elliott could add some of her art as unique decorations only obtainable when you marry her. Crafted in her art room.

Penny could add a artifact display area to the house for things like the piece of pottery she found but never donated to Gunther.

Harvey could have a little lab added to his area, where he could develop new tonics with buffs similer to the buffs we get when eating different types of food. So instead if the tonic healing you and giving you a buff. They just give you the buff, so you dont have to waste food to buff yourself when you dont need healing. It would make him a lot less boring and raise him up a bit on the eligible bachelor list.

Maru, having learnt from her 10 heart event opted to create a drone instead of an AI robot. It could have a platform whare it stays until needed. (Like the Junimo huts) you could interact with it an choose from different options (like you do during heart events) the options could be things like harvest crops, harvest animal products. Its radius could be set as the whole farm depending on which farm is chosen. It could return to its platform when finished and all produce could be added to a storage area attached to its platform (like the bags on the Junimo hut).

Sebastian could create a new mini game (like the games in the Saloon) that can be added to our house. A mini game thats only available if you marry him. He could say that he asked Maru to build the machine for the game. It could even lead to him repairing his relationship with his sister and have her visit once a week on her days off. Sam and Abbey could visit once a week and play D&D with him (on days when he says he might play games or read comics all day).

These could be done like random events, that only unlock once you reach maximum relationship with them. Similar to how your spouce will randomly decorate your house for you. It could be done like, once a week they will spend the day in their personal area and on that day, the event that gives you these things has a chance to trigger once you reach 14hearts with them.

3, an option to do more things with your spouce other than going to the theater.

Eg, maybe add an option in the kitchen that will give you a option to cook a candlelit dinner for your spouce.

In the later stages when everything is automated we have a lot of time on our hands. So having something else we can do with our spouce woukd be nice
Kids should be able to grow to at least giftable age, where they can go and make lil friends and stuff, also if you marry a player it would be cool if you could push npcs to date each other, and get to 10 hearts with everyone, like a platonic option.

Also multiplayer in general needs some work, cause it kinda feels like I can't play with anyone, especially on ps4, if we had like a mobile or desk top option it'd be easier to find people to play with (kind of like minecrafts java and bedrock, ya know?)

I also want my dinosaurs to grow up so I can't ride them to battle.. and be able to get hearts with horse, because they deserve love too
  • water buildings - trash collector, fish schools, fish wheel etc
  • more customization/difference between maps - for example forest soil where only trees and wild seeds can grow but trees grow much quicker and wild seeds need no water.
  • option for smaller buildings (esp fish pond)
  • official and actual "never leave farm" mode
I would add, on a functional level, a better way to buy items in bulk on console. I recently lost a whole day in a co-op save buying wood for kegs!

I would also like true perfection noted somehow on the save file load screen. Maybe a stardrop icon?

And it would be great to have a record of what in-game day / season / year the farmer reached true perfection on each save.

I think more interactions would be nice, like hand holding or such with your partner/spouse, and maybe a small optional survey to add info to the player? I also think it’d be cool to expand our spouse’s interests and stuff if that makes sense?

1) Reminder system:
You know how you get reminders and notifications like "Your gold pickaxe is ready" or "The [event] has started at [location]'. I would like to be able to set my own reminders to get notifications at particular times.
example:
You could set a reminder for spring 15 year 3: "Your aged wine is ready in the basement"
or
Reminder to go off in 3 hours: "Your mayonnaise is ready"
Then you could be sleeping on ginger island or exploring Skull Cavern and get a notification that your fruit jelly is ready back on your farm, so if you want to cut your day short to go collect and sell you can do that.
This could start off paying someone for each reminder, then as the game progresses you could purchase a device that lets you set them yourself, then upgrades so they set automatically for certain actions (planting a seed, putting fruit in a keg etc.)

2) More ways to give money back to the community.
When you reach a point where you have nothing left to spend your money on and you're raking in millions, I think it would be nice if there was always some way of giving your excess money back to the community. e.g. More community upgrades or maybe custom community events where you pay Lewis to arrange an extra community event/ festival.

3) Underground lakes in skull cavern.
Unlike the ones in the mines these would just be one of the standard layouts that can appear when going to a new level, and would still have monsters and nodes. The lake would have a faster bite rate and high chance of ore panning to make it worth stopping your exploration for a moment to see what you can find.

4) Rare fish that can only be caught during green rain event.

I was thinking the same thing, but i also think that town decorations and the abilty to move the fountain would completely go against the theme of what Concerned Ape was going for. The Valley being a simple, idelistic, peaceful place to live.

That being said, there are a few things I'd like to see added.

1, more realisum for NPC relationships

I didn’t think about Elliott and his plants. All of the NPC ideas are great. However, for Elliott, one of the reasons I love him is because he plays the piano. In addition to adding more plants to his NPC area (or have him add random plants around the house), it would be great if when you place down a piano, he will sometimes play it.

I also didn’t think of Abigail and her flute. She definitely needs to make noise when playing it.

I agree that it would go against the vibe to move structures like fountains and to add too much, but there are a few things I would like him to add (although he may need to make the valley slightly larger to fit them without it seeming to be too much in one area). Specifically, these could be community projects that you and the rest of the community create:

1. A school for Jas and Vincent. If our kids can ever age up to kids, they can join them.

2. A skateboarding area for Sam, so he doesn’t have to keep messing up his neighbors flowers. I know he gets a halfpipe if you marry him, but he should have an area to skateboard even if you don’t marry him, and it should be bigger than his tiny halfpipe. Perhaps it could be an extension of the park if ConcernedApe makes that area larger.

3. A golden museum dedicated to Lewis (I’m joking).

I also wish the NPC’s visited the community center more after it’s fixed up. In addition, like you mentioned, the marriageable NPC’s need to have a life outside of marriage. Elliot needs to visit the beach more and his old house. Most of the other characters don’t stay home most of the day (unless it rains), so the marriageable NPC’s should be out and about as well after marriage.

Also, unrelated, but Sebastian’s and Demetrius’ relationship and Maru and Sebastian’s relationship should be delved into more (in general, not related to if you marry them).

My request, which should make millions of people happy: make the wedding day more like other events.

In other words, STOP WAKING UP at the wedding!

Instead, you should wake normally.

A little reminder appears (similar to when an upgraded tool is ready) that just says "Today is your wedding day!"

You can roam around your house just fine.

When you try to exit your house, a confirmation message pops up (just like when you leave an event, a confirmation appears saying the event will end if you leave, yes/no) ... only this message says "If you leave your house, the wedding will begin yes/no".

You confirm Yes, and the wedding takes place as usual.

If you still don't leave your house, another prompt appears at 9am, saying the wedding will automatically start at 10am. If you stay in the house, the scene auto changes at no later than 10am and the wedding takes place. (This extra condition is to prevent people from missing their wedding. The wedding would also autostart if you tried to go back to bed.)

In a nutshell, this 1.7 fix would end, once and for all, the "forgot my wedding" pictures of people still in their usual clothes at their wedding.
This is a big one. Although I would give more time than just 10am to allow people to get ready for their wedding.

I’ve played the game on PC and on my console and here are some things I hope would included in game. I know there are mods for this on PC but I’m not sure if modding is even possible on consoles so I hope it becomes a permanent thing in game without needing a mod. 💕

— NPCs acknowledging your relationship once you date / marry someone.
— I’d like to see my spouse wandering and helping around the farm, it’d be so cute.
— Be able to do an activity with a spouse aside from going to the movies. (going to the mines with Abigail since she likes going there, playing games with Seb, Sculpting with Leah, etc.)
— Allow the farmer to establish a platonic relationship with other bachelors/ bachelorettes once they get married.
— Being able to set a birthday for the farmer and have their closest townspeople give a gift on that day.
— Make use of the community center somehow. Cause I think once it got fixed, most of the people don’t set foot inside again after the party. (same thing could also be said about the spa, I don’t really see other people actually using it)
— Be able to stack tackles so it won’t unnecessarily take up space in the backpack.
— More space for the backpack.
— If possible, have the kids age up as the years pass and allow farmer’s own kids to roam around and befriend others.
— More details about the town and other NPC’s lore (i’m really curious how Linus ended up at the mountains 🤣) story development can really help make playing the game longer more fulfilling.
I second all of this. Especially the using the Community Center more, as well as the after marriage dialogues (NPC’s acknowledging that you’re married, platonic relationships with other marriage candidates, etc.)

Oh, and especially the children getting older.

On second thought, especially all of this. Having a birthday, stacking tackles, etc. etc.

My number one thing I want is bathrooms.

Where do the townspeople go to…go? Bathrooms should be added to all their houses.

We should be able to build on a bathroom as well, or at least have bathroom related furniture like a toilet, sink, shower and/or bath. Even better if it’s useable (fill watering cans in the sink like you can with the kitchen, slowly refill energy to a certain point in the shower or bath (slower than spa, and maybe have a maximum amount you can get per day so you still have reason to use the spa).
