Community Wishlist for 1.7 Update

Hello Stardew Valley Players!
This post is here for the sole purpose of you sharing whatever you want for 1.7 update. (If ConcernedApe ever does release a 1.7 update of course)
I have taken the time to research a lot of things that people want, with a few things that I threw in.
If you want your idea to be added to the list just post it in the comments down below, I will try to add it to the list as fast as I can!
This post is going to be pretty long so be prepared!

Farm and Building Changes:
  1. Farm Upgrades - Adds the ability to buy farm upgrades from Robin, allowing players to upgrade the size of the farm. There is plenty of space to the left of the farm (Other than Riverland and Beach farm) which could be where the farm upgrades would expand on. This extra space could allow for a darker environment, possibly allowing players to grow mushrooms. (Yes, I know that there's a mushroom cave option)
  2. Pools - Adds pools to Robin's store, allowing players to host pool parties with NPCs certain days. The pool could also be used as a Spa, allowing players to regenerate energy and health. It would also have an option allowing players to change which material it looks like (i.e. stone, smooth stone, plastic, etc.)
  3. Large Silo - Moves the Silo's storage up to 450-500 storage space. This would let players focus more space on other things than more silos.
  4. Bigger Fruit/Mushroom Cave - For every pickaxe upgrade that you get you can break a stone in the fruit/mushroom cave, giving you more space where they generate.
Cosmetic Additions:
  1. Horse Customization - The ability to change the horse's color, mane, pattern, etc. (Yes, I know that you can put hats on your horse)
  2. More Prismatic Clothing - Adds Prismatic Skirt, Dress, and possibly more Prismatic hats.
  3. More Hairstyle Options - Adds more hairstyle choices (Pretty self-explanatory)
  4. More Accessories - Adds more accessory choices, such as more bows, hats, and headbands.
  5. Town Decorations - Adds buyable decorations for the town, such as statues, seasonal decorations, etc. Also, the ability to move the fountain or change how it looks.
  6. Community Center Themes - Allows players to change the theme of the Community Center, some such themes could be Cottage, Goth, Cave, Future, etc.
Decorations:
  1. More Seasonal Decorations - It would add more seasonal decorations to the game, mostly all the seasonal decorations are flowers. An example of this could be a decoration that changes to Easter Egg Basket for Spring, Balloons for Summer, Carved Pumpkins for Fall, and Candy Canes for Winter.
  2. More Outdoor Decorations - Adds more outdoor decorations. I personally think we need larger lamps for outside, it always looks funny that indoor lamps are larger than outdoor lamps.
  3. More Fences - Adds more fences for your farm, such as a Crystal Fence.
Events:
  1. More Dialogue Events - More character events to have with NPC, giving you more story to the game.
  2. More Character Lore - Gives more backstory to NPCs
  3. More Seasonal Events - I personally think that there is enough, but this post isn't about me. It seems like people want more seasonal events, I sadly couldn't find the ideas that they had for this.
NPCs:
  1. Add More Romanceable NPCs - Add more romanceable NPCs, and overall more NPCs.
  2. More Character Lore & Dialogue Events - I covered this in Events
Animals:
  1. More Animals - I can't really think of any new animal to add, but I have seen this request everywhere. I will let the comments on this post decide
  2. Animal Variants - Adds more Animal Variants to the game, such as Muddy Pig, Snowy Rabbit, etc.
  3. Wildlife Interaction - Some people have shown interest in adding the ability to interact with the wildlife, and possibly catching them to add to your barn/coop.
  4. More Food Choices - More choices than hay as food for your animals, maybe adding the ability to feed them special food which ups the amount of produce that they produce in a day.
  5. More Pets - Adds more pet choices into the game, such as raccoon  (I really want a raccoon pet)
Mines:
  1. Dwarf Mines - We have seen a mine that looks like a Dwarf Mine in the pre-release images of Stardew Valley (I sadly couldn't find the image, but you can see it on Salmence's Video at 6:38) This mine would look very cool, with lots of lava.
  2. Skull Caverns Quest Board - Add a Quest Board for the Skull Caverns, giving you rare rewards for every 50 or 100 mines down. (Yes, I know that Qi and the Desert Festival have quest-like boards but they aren't the best)
  3. Mine NPCs - Adds the ability to see random NPCs in the mines, and when I say random I mean random. NPCs who don't even live at Pelican Town.
Food:
  1. Cooking Minigame - Whenever you cook a dish it makes you play a small minigame, like how it does when you fish.
  2. More Dishes - Just adds more dish choices, I don't think we need this but a lot of people have been bringing it up on Reddit 🤷‍♂️
Combat: (I don't think these matter, since HC will be focusing around this... probably)
  1. Bosses - Adds bosses to Skull Caverns, possibly every 50 or 100 mines.
  2. More Enchants - Adds more enchant options.
  3. Better Combat System - Let's be real, this is never getting added to SDV.

That's all that I can think of today!
Again, please tell me what you have on your wishlist for if Stardew Valley ever gets updated for 1.7!

Stay safe out there all of you! :duck:
Warmest Regards,
WitherinRoseYT

(This is not the place to get into arguments, if you wish to get into an argument then please do it in a private conversation between you and that person. I am also not saying that 1.7 will be released, and if it is then it will probably be sometime after HC or once ConcernedApe has made significant progress on HC.)

More Ideas:
Since I'm lazy, I will be posting other people's ideas in Spoilers under this message.
1, more realisum for NPC relationships
Eg- if you marry Hayle, Emily will visit her once a week when she isn't working.

2, expanding on our spouces area

Eg - Sebastian has a pc in his room at Robins, that he is often sat in front of when you visit him. He's always working on his programmes, but after he marrys our characters, he is never again seen using his PC, dispite saying he's been working on programming his games when you talk to him in the evening. Expanding the spouse area to add things like a Pc for Sebastian as well as moving his D&D board into the PC room rather than replacing it with the frog's pen, a dark room for Hayle, gadget room for Maru, practice area for Abbey to practice her swordsmanship or play computer games. A gym for Alex, a music room for Sam to practice with Abbey and Sebastian. A writing area for Elliott, a sculpting area for Lea, a chill zone and crafting room for Emily

Emily could even randomly make a new outfit for you once in a while if you have a dresser in the house, she could also be programmed to ask the player if they can give her some cloth if our farm has Rabbits or Sheep.

Sam could be programmed to give the player new music to listen to because he and the band have come up with a new song, it could be added to a new type of jukebox, or a sterio with cassettes that you can insert to listen to his music.

Hayle could develop pictures to be placed around the house, maybe based off of our screen shots we take. Or ahe could even develop the photos she took as part of her 6 heart event at Marnies Ranch to put arpund the house. Maybe even a wedding photo, or things like the Moonlight Jellies or photos of Hayle and our character at some of the other events like the Luau.

Abbey could add different coloured slims to a slim hutch if you have one. Saying how she found them while exploring. Or if not that, she can be found on rainy days playing her flute, so instead of no music being played on those days, you have Abbey playing her flute instead. (In the house or outside), she could even frame sone of her drawings like her Orc with the battle axe, or her tiger to place in the house as decorations.

Elliott, when he's not writing likes to care for plants. Maybe he could add new plant type decorations to the house, that aren't obtainable any other way, like a rose, a venus flytrap or a bonsai tree

Lea like Elliott could add some of her art as unique decorations only obtainable when you marry her. Crafted in her art room.

Penny could add a artifact display area to the house for things like the piece of pottery she found but never donated to Gunther.

Harvey could have a little lab added to his area, where he could develop new tonics with buffs similer to the buffs we get when eating different types of food. So instead if the tonic healing you and giving you a buff. They just give you the buff, so you dont have to waste food to buff yourself when you dont need healing. It would make him a lot less boring and raise him up a bit on the eligible bachelor list.

Maru, having learnt from her 10 heart event opted to create a drone instead of an AI robot. It could have a platform whare it stays until needed. (Like the Junimo huts) you could interact with it an choose from different options (like you do during heart events) the options could be things like harvest crops, harvest animal products. Its radius could be set as the whole farm depending on which farm is chosen. It could return to its platform when finished and all produce could be added to a storage area attached to its platform (like the bags on the Junimo hut).

Sebastian could create a new mini game (like the games in the Saloon) that can be added to our house. A mini game thats only available if you marry him. He could say that he asked Maru to build the machine for the game. It could even lead to him repairing his relationship with his sister and have her visit once a week on her days off. Sam and Abbey could visit once a week and play D&D with him (on days when he says he might play games or read comics all day).

These could be done like random events, that only unlock once you reach maximum relationship with them. Similar to how your spouce will randomly decorate your house for you. It could be done like, once a week they will spend the day in their personal area and on that day, the event that gives you these things has a chance to trigger once you reach 14hearts with them.

3, an option to do more things with your spouce other than going to the theater.

Eg, maybe add an option in the kitchen that will give you a option to cook a candlelit dinner for your spouce.

In the later stages when everything is automated we have a lot of time on our hands. So having something else we can do with our spouce woukd be nice
Kids should be able to grow to at least giftable age, where they can go and make lil friends and stuff, also if you marry a player it would be cool if you could push npcs to date each other, and get to 10 hearts with everyone, like a platonic option.

Also multiplayer in general needs some work, cause it kinda feels like I can't play with anyone, especially on ps4, if we had like a mobile or desk top option it'd be easier to find people to play with (kind of like minecrafts java and bedrock, ya know?)

I also want my dinosaurs to grow up so I can't ride them to battle.. and be able to get hearts with horse, because they deserve love too

In all honesty many of these may be better suggestions for haunted chocolatier, the entirely new game that's yet to be as saturated as stardew has become and poses the risk for in the future.

Especially about bosses, different combat systems, etc. Such an overhaul fits the game that's being modelled around combat and perhaps a more in depth cooking experience for the suggestions in regard to that and new dishes too.

You'll also naturally just see the variety you're requesting in a way that's better integrated into a brand new ecosystem and game system that's properly designed for it, all with some continuity to stardew valley and a wide future ahead of it

I was thinking the same thing, but i also think that town decorations and the abilty to move the fountain would completely go against the theme of what Concerned Ape was going for. The Valley being a simple, idelistic, peaceful place to live.

That being said, there are a few things I'd like to see added.

Oohhhh, i love these!! All the lil room ideas are so cute! I've also always hated how getting a npc spouse completely isolates them. It's really sad...
Along the same thread, kids should be able to grow to at least giftable age, where they can go and make lil friends and stuff, also if you marry a player it would be cool if you could push npcs to date each other, and get to 10 hearts with everyone, like a platonic option.

Sorry for the late response, I added your ideas to the post too!

Planter
  • water buildings - trash collector, fish schools, fish wheel etc
  • more customization/difference between maps - for example forest soil where only trees and wild seeds can grow but trees grow much quicker and wild seeds need no water.
  • option for smaller buildings (esp fish pond)
  • official and actual "never leave farm" mode

I think the easiest way is to make version 1.7 yourself! Kind of...
CA did version 1.6 especially to help modders to expand the game more easily. So version 1.6 was his approach for a community driven game development.

With Stardew Valley Expanded (SVE), Ridgeside Village and East Scarp there are HUGE expansions already. And there are a lot more: https://www.nexusmods.com/games/stardewvalley/mods

SVE:

Ridgeside Village

East Scarp:

So ALL of this great expansions above (at least) are publicly made and I am sure the developers welcome all kind of help - new ideas, bug reports, co-programming, financial donations....
So maybe give these mods a try and give your ideas to the mod devs where the specific idea best fits!

Happy farming/mining/exploring...

As someone who just had their game crash at 12AM thanks to Smapi being glitchy after I just got the trash hat, i would like to point out not everyone can use mods.. also any mobile or console players can't, like yeah, mods are cool, but they're horrid with multiplayer, they're hard to mix and match without problems, and half the community can't use them.. it's not a win all solution (no im not bitter at all, whatever do you mean??)
