Windows Combat is 12. Is something wrong?

Playing the game for the first time and taking my time to explore the universe.
But just noticed that my combat level is 12, and there was no notification to choose a skill.
Has someone faced it? Are there ways to solve it?

Did you eat anything that raised your skill? Did you get to choose level 5 profession? What do you think the skill should be? Can you share a screenshot?
