Got a quick question? How can I make my clothes or dye them in sdv? Do I need specific items? Or do I have to unlock something?

Once you get your hands on cloths, Emily will invite you to use her sewing machine and dye pots.

On top of what ereo said, if you complete the special orders board quest from Emily she will also gift you your very own sewing machine which works the exact same way and can be placed anywhere. You will need to dye at her place though.

Not necessarily. You can dye with your sewing machine as well, just place the clothing in the feed instead of fabric. The dye pots at Emily's give more "professional" results though.

Yeah, I should have clarified, to fully dye and take advantage of stuff like the colour slider with shards/rainbow shells to get exactly what you want the dye station will be a lot nicer
