Switch Catching ocean fish in Ginger Island West pond and river

As the title states, I am only catching ocean fish in all water sources in the Western part of Ginger Island. Pond and river (north of the southernmost bridge) should be freshwater.
Playing on Switch version 1.6.9.37

I’m having the same issue on my save file on the switch. However I am able to catch blue discus fish in the rivers at the bone area (where you rescued professor snail). Hopefully this helps you out until there’s a update with a fix!
