Riverland Farm Captain Crab goes Catfishing

In spring when it's raining it's best to fish Catfish in the river... but what if it's raining 18 days in spring? Captain Crab decided to check it out.

  • World Seed: 422049544 (only one with 18 rainy days)
  • Map: Riverlands
  • Goals: The Legend and Slime Hutch before entering the mines, rain-watered crops

Getting foraging level 1 day 1 is easier if we get a lot of forage to pick up. Also some energy for that one extra tree to cut down

z2.jpg

Getting a weapon from a fishing chest early is pretty handy - makes early mines level much easier, especially bug clearing

Captain Mistbeard retired, but at 472 years old he's still kicking. Curses can be handy...

Never go out to fish without pleasing The Hag of the Seven Seas

7+ rainy days means you can plant wild seeds somewhere on the farm and get a free harvest. Wild seeds don't need a scarecrow

z6.jpg
Lots of spring forage is good as gifts, can also be sold as seeds for profits or used for green tea saplings

Ancient seed, nice

And an egg

First day at the mines then. Best daily luck...

Slime hutch ready - iridium bar from cart, 10 refined quarts from recycling fishing trash. I got one green slime egg in the mines and like 4 blue slime eggs in subsequent days. The Hutch needs ~2 eggs (male and female) and then they multiply.

zz3.jpg

Eggs can drop, but it's not that high %. If you are farming gold-levels then the red eggs would provide a bit of nice income.

zz2.jpg

My typical chest setup. Black for resources, blue for fishing stuff, green for crops, red for tools and misc/important items

zz5.jpg

Mushroom log forest setup. (plus tappers)

zz5b.jpg

Green Rain force-grows most of the trees and some get covered with moss that will help kickstart mushroom quality

zz5c.jpg

Candles on the service paths illuminate the trees while being hidden. Looks nice :)

zz6.jpg

Green Rain is around 300 moss. Beach and Forest farm can have 300 hardwood or more by that time, other have to rely on mahogany tree farming

zz9.jpg

Plant mahogany seeds, use tree fertilizer, then wait for them to drop some seeds, replant them, and with time cut down all & replant, fertilize, wait and repeat. Each wave should have more and more trees.

4-rain days in summer are near guaranteed so you can drop large fields of wheat for "free" harvest ;)

Fishing at the beach in summer. 5K in plain fish, 5K in smoked puffer fish, and super cucumber.

zzz2.jpg

Fishing a level 20 mines isn't as profitable but ghostfish is good for energy, white algae can be turned into pale broth for profit/energy (Marnie 3*). Stonefish into fish smoker.

zzz4.jpg

First mushrooms. With time there will be more chantarelle there and moss will increase the quality so less of them would have to go through dehydrator.

zzz6.jpg

Nice start.

---------------

With 18 rainy days in spring lots of catfish, and no strawberries the total earnings in spring were 160K... House was upgraded once, the steel axe and pickaxe, the forest was cut down 2x, Mines were delayed.

Fishing 10, farming 8 (large fields of kale), mining 5, combat 5, foraging 7.

Summer would be cutting the forest a third time, planting one at the train station for even more places for mushroom logs. Mahogany farm later on in the quarry. Limiting crops/sprinklers to a bare minimum :)
