iOS Cannot get interact with my teammates

I’m hoping someone can help me with an issue I’ve run into while playing Stardew Valley on iOS. I recently transferred my Steam save file to the iOS version by saving the local files, and I successfully set up a multiplayer game with my teammate over LAN. The save I transferred was from a file where we were already married, but we’re running into some weird problems in the iOS multiplayer version.
Specifically, in the relationship menu, I can’t see my teammate listed, and we can’t interact with each other in most ways—like giving gifts or items. The only interaction we can do is kissing. It’s frustrating because everything seemed to transfer correctly, and we can play together fine otherwise, but this marriage/interaction glitch is a big issue for us.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
  • Transferred the save file manually from Steam to iOS using local files.
  • Confirmed we’re connected via LAN and can join the same farm.
  • Checked that the save file includes our marriage (it was working fine on Steam).
I’m wondering if this is a compatibility issue between the Steam and iOS versions, a limitation of iOS multiplayer, or maybe a bug in the mobile version.
I’ve tried restarting the game and our devices, but the problem persists. I’d love to know if I need to re-confirm our marriage in-game, check for version mismatches, or try something else. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,

Updated: I think marriage is recognized in the game since I can have children with my teammates in the game for now. And the interact problem still exist, but I found out that it's only I cannot interact with my teammates but she can interact with me. And we still cannot see each other from the relationship list.

Haha, it's like the joke: “There are kisses, but you can't give gifts”.

I had a similar problem when transferring saves between versions.

Create a new engagement ring and try to “get married” again in the iOS version. Sometimes it helps to restore all interactions.
Both players must have the same version of the game installed.
If nothing helps, try saving the game, quit the farm and have the other player create a new character profile. But you'll have to start the relationship from scratch.

Thanks a lot! I tried to create a new engagement but both of us is not able to do that. What's funniest is that we can even have a baby for now. Kind of wired relationship haha. And I found out the interaction problem is one direction for me. My teammate is able to give gift to me. So there is only two problems left, first, I can still not interact with my teammates. Second, we still cannot see each other on relationship menu. I think I'm gonna see if I can propose to other villagers to see if this marriage do exist. Hope I won't get a bigamy on Pelican Town LOL.

Unfortunately, this is part of the reason why multiplayer on mobile is still considered experimental; as far as I can tell, you can indeed still gift on mobile, but you'd need to be using a controller (or perhaps the virtual joystick control scheme). Tap-to-move wasn't designed with multiplayer in mind, so there's a few interactions like that which it doesn't currently support.

Nice ideas! I’d love to try out a controller ASAP. I totally get that it’s just an experimental version for now—thanks so much for the support! I’m sure you guys will nail it later. For now, I’m just gonna enjoy my ‘open relationship with Kid’ time LOL.

Have you tried the virtual buttons? A lot of the other things that don’t work well with tap to move work with them.
