Switch Can only catch sea jelly

I have been trying to catch a river jelly but all I catch is sea jelly even in spots where they shouldn't spawn such as ginger island west pond and river.

In the mean time, I believe that you can get it from having at least 7 fish in a midnight carp fishing pond.
