Switch Can’t Fish after Update

I am playing on Nintendo Switch v1.6.15 build 3. I’ve played over 200 hours of this game and since I updated just last week I haven’t been able to fish. I cast the line, I have a bobber and bait, I get the vibration and exclamation point but when I push Y my whole line just comes back without starting the mini-game.

I just started basically and the same thing is going on when I try to fish. This is on my second save. On my first one, I did start fishing but stopped playing SV. When I started playing it again, I noticed this.
