iOS Can’t do anything but move forward

I’m downloaded Stardew from Apple Arcade and have gotten pretty far but for the past two weeks I have been unable to finish the day I’m on. I’m able to get started on the day but sooner or later im unable to do anything but move forward. Can’t open inventory or anything. I’ve seen a couple people having the same issue but haven’t seen any solution. I’ve tried restarting my iPad, i saw someone delete and redownloaded the app but it was only a temporary fix. I’ve really been enjoying this game and would like to play more.
