I feel you should get the option to bring the pets back or go visit them in their paradise that they get sent to from butterfly powder, and perhaps a comfirmation for doing it

How would you do so, such isn't even possible irl?
Maybe it’s just one more reason to think carefully before using the powder… It’s up to your imagination what “remove” means here (take it to an animal shelter, release it somewhere, give it to someone else, or put it to sleep…) Maybe it should be more of a “Lassie” option—the animal gets so homesick that it finds its way back to the farm after a while. Children turned into doves might also show up at the farm every now and then, if there’s a birdhouse there...

When you use it there is a dialogue box that pops up and asks you to confirm that you're sure.

I think if you've decided to remove a pet, it should be permanent, I don't see how you'd do it accidentally and it should feel like a big decision to think about.

Then we need some kind of bird house but for them, so we can choose if the animal does return or not. Inknow dog houses and cat trees exist but they might get used for other pets.

Unfortunately they're just nice decorations, the only dog using a doghouse is Dusty.

"Doves may appear at a Bird House placed on the farm after using the Dark Shrine of Selfishness." -> that's what the Wiki says and I saw it a few times in my very first game, kinda weird, if you ask me and I didn't recognize them first... (turned the children into doves when they were 12 and 13 in-game-years old and I couldn't stand anymore having just toddlers around me after all these years )

I know, I just meant that we need an option to "call" pets back if it's made possible for them to return so if you don't want the pet to do that, you won't have to use the butterfly powder repeatedly. And the dog house can't be that, because maybe you have other dogs (why'd you decorate with them if you don't??) so you place it 'for them', even if they can't actually use it and not for the dog/other pet to return.

I've never done that but I know this exists. Though it's less of a child returning and more of a reminder of what you've done. So taking the case with pets, we could have like pale butterflies, or something like that because it's butterfly powder. I'll have to think about this.

I feel exactly the same way, which is why it was kind of weird when I realized that those were “my kids” at the birdhouse...

Idk if you'll even recognize pale butterflies, there are so many with different colors flying around... I never used that powder so far, mostly bc I just mistook pets with animals and always thought, why there's such thing when I can simply sell them?

...Which is why I added that I'll need to think about it, just those would be too subtle. Maybe have a bunch of them fly out sometimes when you take care of your other pet, that would be more noticeable + tied to pets. Still isn't that great.
