The game will let you plant a common tree seed one tile away from a fruit tree sapling, but won't let you plant a fruit tree sapling one tile away from a common tree seed. Gives the error message "Too close to another tree". A common tree planted one tile away from a Fruit Tree does not hinder growth (tested in v1.4.5).
