Switch [Bug] Elliot 10-heart event not triggering

Hello! I'm having an issue where I receive the letter for Elliot's 10 heart event but when I go to the docks on a sunny day as it instructs, it never triggers. I tried different times of the morning, giving Elliot gifts, entering/exiting the Beach area different ways, clearing other heart events first. I did some googling and it looks like this was an issue for a while but no one seems to have posted it here. I thought at first it was because I got the letter in Winter but then it didn't trigger in Spring either. I've tried it every in-game day and it hasn't happened.

Switch version. Ver. 1.5.4 but I was having it before this update. Single-player.

I currently have the same issue both on Android and PC. Not sure if one of my mods is causing it or it is just a bug that some people seem to have... Hopefully someone can help

I have the same issue, I play on PC with no mods. I also got the letter on winter, but the event won’t trigger. I hope it can be fixed soon.

Same here - on PC, no mods. After all these years?

I vaguely remember that, the time I unlocked his 10 heart event, was the same day I unlocked a bunch of other characters' events - one of which was also at the beach. That might be what caused it to happen...

Has anyone tried getting the ten-heart event after this just to see if it works? Or maybe editing the save file or something?

Okay, so I just opened my save life on Notepad++ and saw that, just like I thought, the event was listed as 'seen'. Because it took place on the same day as another event on the beach, it got 'replaced' by that one, but the game still listed it as 'seen'. So what I did was remove the line under "events seen" that had the event ID for Elliot's 10-heart event (43) and suddenly it was working again. Though I don't know if it would be possible to apply this fix in your case...

If you can't edit your save, just watch the event online, and then proceed with the game. If it's the same thing that happened to me, I don't think there'll be any issue.
