Greenhorn
(Copied from Steam forum for visibility because my wife was really disappointed to not see the mermaid event)
My wife and I have been playing through with local co-op(thanks for the great feature).
We crashed twice(these are the only crashes we've had) and both times was 'caused' by the Mermaid Boat.
The first time, I entered the boat and the show started playing. She then entered and as far as I noticed the show didn't start for her before the game CTD'ed.
The second time, she went in alone. Again, we were looking at the desktop moments after.
Both times she admitted to possibly button mashing to try to get the show to start.
We're going to be coming up on another Night Festival eventually, so I wanted to report to hopefully get it fixed.
More information that may or may not be relevant:
One thing that I noticed is that there is two ways to do local co-op. One is to load the farm then start the local coop in the options. I just discovered this way.
The way I had been starting the game was loading the farm with the Coop button using that flow to host farm then starting local co-op in game. The only difference I noticed is with the latter method, there are additional buttons in the options in addition to Start Local Coop: "Invite Friends..." and "Show Invite Code". However, they could be different enough to make that relevant.
