iOS [BUG] Can’t place bait into crab pots

When I first started the game I didn’t have this problem. Now I can’t place any bait into the crab pots. I either keep “running” towards the crab pot or I pick it up and it goes back into my inventory. I also can’t set the crab pot onto the green tile that shows up for placement, I have to click in between the placement tile and the one next to it. I need to be able to use the crab pots. I have a lobster to catch!
Please help :/

iOS 14.4.2
Stardew version 1.4.5.153

When trying to bait the pots, your bait is the active item on your tool bar? Are you clicking the space between you and the pot?

Check your fishing skills. If you have Luremaster at level 10, you don't need bait. (And clicking it will do just as you describe.)

Yes. I set the crab pots, then select my bait. I click in between the two tiles and nothing happens. I click on the actual pot, the tile before it and in between, but again it does nothing.

That's Farming, not Fishing. Fishing 10 is either Luremaster or Mariner.
