Hello! This bug is a little complicated to categorize as while it would only appear in map making, it is not tied to a mod itself but appears to be coming from Stardew Valley side (at least if it's confirmed to be a bug and I'm not a total idiot). I was advised on the discord to treat it as a non-modded bug and post it in this very forum!
Issue was witnessed on PC on the last available SV update on GOG as of Dec 09 2021 and was already present on 1.5.5 initial release AFAIK. Issue was tested with absolute bare minimum install (SMAPI+CP+Map) to ensure it's unrelated to mods interaction. Issue was tested by adding the Property via CP but also by adding it to the map .TMX file itself, and was consistent both time.
Stardew Valley 1.5.5 added new map properties, one of them being "FarmHouseFurniture" used in decorating farmhouses and essential in custom farm types. When used to decorate the starting house, some furniture appear to be missing their normal behaviors:
- TV
A player cannot interact with it, it can be picked up but when placed back on the ground it will now behave like a dresser (the model, icon and description are still that of a TV). Issue is consistent with all 4 kind of TVs.
- Fishtanks
Same behavior as TV, it shall be noted that they appear to be missing the transparent blue layer that simulates water when compared to their normal version that the player can buy later.
These are the only ones I know so far, other tested furnitures like Fireplaces behave normally. If these furnitures are added during normal gameplay, by buying them for example, then they behave normally. Only those added to the farmhouse when the game is started for the first time will be permanently bugged.
Since starting the game with a working TV is essential for a new player, it makes adding new farm types quite complicated.
