My partner and I have been playing on different farms together off and on for over a year and this issue didn't start until about a month ago. Both games launch fine but when he goes to join the farm he gets stuck on a black screen. He can open his inventory and access any other menus but otherwise its a black screen. Sometimes it will eventually work but not always and it takes a minute. We've tried every troubleshooting method I could find including removing his firewall to no results.
We both play on Windows on the most recent version of the game and with SMAPI and all other mods updated to the most recent version (as of 2/16/2026). Nothing was added or removed before the issue started.
