Hey guys!!
I couldn't find a post that entailed this, but I've been thinking about this the entire time that I've been conversing on the Stardew Valley Forums.
Essentially, as it stands right now, when you send someone a PM via the conversations tab, you are met with the option to either 'report' or 'reply' to your own content. I think that it would be quite convenient if an additional 'edit' option existed: I converse on multiple forums, and I find that almost all of them offer this concrete solution for when you make a slip-up or a typo or just want to add more information without seeming like someone who posts a lot in a small timeframe.
I most recently had this revelation as I was contacting a staff member for a possible name change. I am rather capricious in nature and extremely impulsive. I sent a message at first thinking it would have been my set-in-stone username, but after maybe 5 minutes of sending the message, I had cold feet and didn't want to take on that username anymore. In that situation, without pestering staff members and adding more weight and burdens to carry in their inboxes, I would have appreciated an edit option where I could have swiftly and silently changed the contents of my email, even slightly, so that I could rest easy knowing I didn't accidentally name myself something I wouldn't be that satisfied with.
Ultimately, I see this as a rather harmless QOL, and the function of it would be almost identical to profile post mechanics in which an 'edit' option coexists with the other mentioned options.
