Yes, any food dish you eat that increases your Foraging skill, like Autumn's Bounty, will increase the amount of Wood that you get when you cut down a Tree. If you are looking for even more Wood, choosing the Forester profession when you get that choice at Foraging Level 5 will give you even more Wood when you cut down a Tree.

However many people recommend choosing the Gatherer profession at Foraging Level 5 as they prefer the Botanist profession at Level 10, which can be better at a later time in the game.
