Animals Unhappy??

I'm currently on my 3rd year (playing co-op with a friend) and we are feeding our animals, petting them daily yet they are still "looking a little thin" and just overall unhappy. We have an auto-grabber so they are getting milked and eggs being picked up. We have the deluxe barn and coop, so we are unsure what the issue is? our silo is always full as well

please help!!

Is there hay in the feeding bench? Can you share a picture?

overall, they are happier if they can eat the grass outside, but they should not be looking thin if they have access to hay.

Are you sure? A single heater is supposed to be enough for a whole coop/barn whatever its upgrade level is. In one of my current save, this is winter, I have a deluxe coop and a big barn and both only have one heater, with quite happy animals in them.

Thank you for all the replies! We believe it was just a bug as both the barn and coop had a heater, silo's always full, daily pets. It managed to just fix itself after a couple of days but was still annoying as we missed out on a lot of produce!
