An Option for the Game Time

Give us a chance for change passing speed of time. Time passing really fast and sometimes i only can do a couple things in one day. If we can decrase or increase it, it will be a good feature.
Idk the passing speed of time but i really need an option for decrease it. I'm playing Multiplayer and time doesn't stop if i open my inventory or a chest etc... so we need a option.

2:30 minutes in real life = 10 minutes in game

If we can set it from farm options, it will be amazing. Thanks.

They should give us the option of changing the speed of the game, like how fast the days go by instead of having it set to "2:30 minutes in real life = 10 minutes in-game". Also if we are playing in a multiplayer server the owner of the world shouldn't just be able to control the length of the days, the other people in the server should be able to control how long their specific character's day is.

Just a note that I'm specifically talking about singleplayer here, as the game clock works differently in multiplayer.

To be honest I'm not entirely sure how much easier this change would make the game when (aside from quests) there's almost no time limits on anything in the game. Say you can do 2 tasks per day now, and could do 4 if the day was twice as long. Would having a day that was twice as long be any different than playing for two days and completing those 4 tasks? And what about early game when you don't have as much energy? I think a longer day might actually be more difficult for new players as it would force them to manage their energy much more.

The wife and I play MP and what we do, if someone has to do a bunch of work in a chest, or is breaking up geodes at Clint's is... we pause using the chat command: /pause. It allows you to keep doing stuff in menus, including breaking up geodes at Clint's, shopping or when you have your menu open and are say, crafting.

If you pause the game, you can't do anything, you have to unpause if you want to do some work in chest or inventory. /pause command pausing all of the game. Other players and you will be frozen and can't do anything until /unpause. Also it's really annoying to pause all the time for do some works because other players being frozen too. So when someone doing a work in chest, others have to wait until he unpause the game.

We tried this cmd too with my girlfriend. But it's just for pause the game for everyone. But i will try again, thanks for telling that to me.

Support this, it's like a speedrun when playing multiplayer. We need a option for decrase speed of time passing.
Also I'm supporting your idea too, it's like a speedrun when playing Multiplayer. Because the time never stops if you open a chest or do something else.

I'm sticking to the default time, cuz its challenging and it teaches you how to manage your time, time management.
It doesn't work like that on Multiplayer, it's like a speedrun. You have no time to relax and spend some enjoyable time. You just need to be fast for finish your daily works. It's not really funny on Multiplayer because of time never stops.

If you use the /pause command, time stops, this is true. BUT if you are in a menu, in a chest, or in a shop menu... I promise you, because I've done it SO many times, that you can move stuff around in your inventory, check friendship, skills, crafts (and even do crafting) if you were in the menu when things paused, and that you can put stuff into and take stuff out of a chest that you were in when the game paused, or go shopping and break up geodes. Yes, as soon as you leave, you're stuck unable to do anything until the game is unpaused (which, by the way, you can use the same /pause command to unpause).

Yes, everyone is stopped, but you know what? You losing half the day really sucks, while them taking a bathroom break is not the end of the world.

This time management thing is not a fun experience for someone having ADHD... The game starts to be grindy and not relaxing at all when you have to manage all those things in those short ~20 minutes, especially in multiplayer...

I've been using Timespeed mod for this reason, i was new at SDV and while i bought the game for relaxation in life, i was speeding my way to complete simple quests, and to just talk to villagers.
There i was, stressed out in a game i bought to relax.
Nowadays i don't care if it's cheating, as i just wanna have my nice times, and the new areas are very welcome to me, as i can first explore, and only unpause the timer in dungeon areas, as that's the adventure of the game, and fishing, as i don't wanna "cheat" too much by just getting fish after fish (with fishing mod, as that minigame is crazy, too) without time passing.
The farming and foraging parts are just once a day, so that's not giving me huge profit like repeating mines and fishing do.
It's kinda like Animal Crossing with battles and more side stuff to do, i guess.... and not as slow of a timer. (set it to 30 sec IRL = 10 minutes ingame)
Animal Crossing won't make you do much (only have the one on GameCube), as you wait until someone has a quest or such, and then it's over for a while.
So modded SDV gives me stuff to do, and always making new characters which i do the farming bit different with over and over, will amke me think a lot.

Now as for this idea, it's not with paused timer, but gives enough time to not stress oneself out when one wants to relax.
If this idea would be in the game itself, people who bought this game for relaxation with some action mixed in, very happy, i'm sure.
Ps. I'm no speedrunner at all, so i don't mind having an easier(not too easy) game.

Who knows? Maybe CA will have a better idea, or an idea from this topic will be used. :)

I agree you, i really want to relax instead of trying to do my work quickly, i dont have even time for walk around my farm and relax a bit.

I had to disable my mods with the update so I'm just to say I agree with (almost) everyone here, this game is way way worse now that I can't at least double the length of the day with mods. It's so frustrating to be working on my farm in the middle of the day and know I probably already don't have enough time to get another 5 floors in the mines before 2 am.

But I feel like the fact that there's still no official option for this might be a question of how CA approaches games in general. If you're familiar with Stardew Valley: The Board Game you probably know that reviewers found it way more stressful than fun trying to cram everything you need to do into the incredibly limited number of luck-based actions you have in an entire year. I feel like CA just wants to make games where you have to white-knuckle it constantly and really press your luck if you want to have both chickens and parsnips. Which is fine, I guess, I just also think that design philosophy is the exact opposite of what people are looking for from a chill farming/dating game.
