Came back recently for a fourth playthrough into the newer endgame stuff and had what I thought was an interesting idea for a new endgame mechanic:
What if there was a way to trigger an alien invasion of the valley with the dark creature that can be hatched? Something like crafting bait and setting a trap for it. The next day after catching, the whole valley would be transformed into an event / dungeon with alien monsters all across the map.
The townsfolk could hide in the movie theatre or community center / joja mart and give short quests that have to be completed same day. That way there could be multiple short story lines to complete, but you can only fit one main and a couple side quests per event trigger so you would want to replay the event multiple times for alternate run throughs. Even the season the event is triggered in could provide a unique quest line. My thinking is the difficulty for these quests would increase West to East where one of them would end in a boss event in the Quarry.
Anyway, just a thought… Love this game and have since day 1, absolute gem of a developer. Thanks!
EDIT: I forgot the loot! Other than the obvious potential cool alien weapons and farm equipment, it would be awesome if there was 1 of 4 alien minerals that you could get depending on the season that “grow” like any other crop, but it would take all season to grow, making you hang on to them until the next time that season came around.
