The new version is about time to add a farmer! He'll have his own farm (much smaller than the player's), and only female players can marry him; male players can only be friends. Feel like the farmer should change depending if the player is male or female, that way both types of player can decided if they want to marry the farmer. But since you may want to marry a farmer of the same sex maybe you could decide when creating a save file what the farmer will be, that way everyone is happy.
