Achievements on Windows store version missing

Hey, apologies if this is the wrong place to put the thread.

I'm currently playing on the Windows Store version of Stardew Valley (aka Xbox on PC/PC Game Pass). Originally when update 1.6 released, Xbox and Windows Store were missed out, then with Update 1.6.3 the Windows Store version was updated, including with the 1.6 achievements ingame, but without actual achievement support. I assume this was to keep achievement parity with the Xbox version, as they're both handled by the same company, Microsoft.I read somewhere that achievements earnt ingame before support was added would have to be re-earnt post-support (because ConcernedApe wanted people to experience 1.6 on a new save file).

When version 1.6.9 was released, it included Xbox and the console version received the nine new achievements as well, yet despite it being several months since then the Windows Store version still lacks the achievement support. I tried contacting ConcernedApe about this "oversight" (at least I hope it's an oversight) on Twitter but never got a reply. The whole "having to re-earn achievements" bit is limiting my experience with the game at the moment, as I'm having to ignore stuff like Ginger Island and the giant stump to avoid triggering the achievements.

Does anybody have any information about what's happening here, like if it's intentional and/or there's plans fur this support later down the line? Is there a way to contact ConcernedApe about this other than Twitter?

Definitely consider leaving this as a bug report on the reporting page here on the forums, it's the official one that devs check and take notes from for what to fix.

Do you also mind elaborating on your choice for not wanting to trigger the achievements? I assume if the achievement parity on the platform would be fixed that any ahicevements would be aligned with the game, though even if they aren't you can always troubleshoot them within microsoft itself, soft trigger them in the game files, or just play a new file. Achivements are pretty worthless too, so you really shouldn't arbitrarily restrict your gameplay based on out of game achievements that really have no value.

Okay, was unsure if it'd count as a bug. I'll post there in a bit.

As for avoiding triggering the achievements, it's a purity/experience thing. I'd like to tie the achievements in my main save with actually unlocking them on Microsoft's platform. I have a second save file that I used item code spawning for to get the Jojo achievement, but I'd rather avoid using "illegitimate" methods to get achievements so to speak if I actually enjoy a game, as it feels better to actually earn the achievement myself instead of just using chickens to spawn all the items I need (like the relief of finally finding that bone flute in the 28th treasure trove). This includes modifying the save files (there's some DRM that hides Windows store files anyway, or I would have used it to check my stat experience) and there's a website I use for achievement tracking that'd ban me if I did that. Plus certain achievements are kinda lengthy in their requirements (e.g. perfection) and as far as I can tell only pre-1.6 achievements have retrigger conditions (e.g. Master of the Five Ways [get all skills to level 10] can be retriggered by entering the Mastery Cave). Plus there's still plenty of content for me to enjoy in the game even with avoiding triggering the new achievements (e.g. I can still work on Protector of the Valley [complete all Adventure Guild Slayer tasks] without going to Ginger Island for the most part, and skill mastery lacks an achievement).

As for the parity issue, technically Stardew Valley on Xbox console is a different game from Stardew Valley on the Windows store, hence the achievement mismatch. Some games are the same across all Microsoft platforms and triggering achievements on XBone also unlocks it on XSX and Windows, but others have specific variations for the specific platforms which are called stacks (and that includes Stardew Valley). There's even some games that have stacks between XBone and XSX.

As for the value of the achievements, I'm an achievement hunter and like seeing the number go up (currently at 8,713 achievements). I use them as goals for playing games, guides for what to work towards, and when to consider a game complete. I understand that achievement hunting is something very few people actually aim for, but different strokes for different folks and it's something I enjoy.

You know that that's fair enough, each to their own in matters of aesthetic, hopefully your issue is resolved, I'll try browsing a couple threads myself, microsoft pc just isn't all that common a platform for most so many issues there are just underrepresented
