I was at the beach collecting things from crab pots and then I collected glasses and got 1000 from one pot and then in the next one I got 128 glasses I'm not sure how this happened though
I just had a similar crab pot glitch, I didn't catch if it happened in succession or not but I ended up with 1000 silver quality crab and 64 soggy newspapers, in addition to more normal amounts of other crab pot items, from an area with a total of 39 placed crab pots, all placed along the sides of the docks on the west side of the beach (so none on the other side of the bridge). This is the first time I've gotten 1000 of something but I think in general I've been getting higher numbers than should be expected, though I can't pin down when it started except that it was at some point during 1.6.9.

I'm year 4 winter 18, the first day after the night market (so my crab pots were hidden for the previous 3 days).
My save originated in Switch version 1.5.4.2 and updated to 1.6.9 at the start of year 4.
I used deluxe bait in the pots and I have
the Art Of Crabbing book
. My fishing skill is at 10 with the Angler profession, and
my mastery is maxed out but I have not selected the fishing mastery perk.
I also have wild bait equipped in my fishing rod.
[Edit: I now see that this has been noted and fixed in a later update than is currently available for console, according to the changelog for 1.6.12: "fixed bug where you could harvest unusual quantities of items from crab pots". ]
