Granted but it always thinks your fingers are carrots, and the next night you wake up with the bunny eating your last fingerGranted, but the diamond is very tiny with sharp edges so every time you try to pick it up it slices your skin, burying itself deep inside until your body encloses it within a protective granuloma which slowly meanders its way to the surface as the layers of your skin slough off over time. Once it reaches your outer dead skin layer the stubborn granuloma resists your attempts to dislodge the now obvious and ugly protrusion. Over time as your skin cells are continually shed to feed various mites living in your home, there is little left for the disgusting gall to attach to and using your fingernails, you dig it free from your body. You then dissect the granuloma barely managing not to retch and extract the diamond, but in your clumsiness the semitransparent shard slices its way back in for another extended visit. What a waste of time and effort.
