Can anybody tell me if there's a way to detect how many posts I've made in a thread? I might be at the point to update the poll at the front but would like to avoid counting manually if I can possibly help it

Still counting, but a bit easier, you can search your own posts in this thread, then see how many pages of search results there are. Each full page displays 20 posts, so (number of pages - 1) × 20 + however many you have on the last one, which usually isn't full.

Edit: ok it does get harder if you have a lot and need to look for older results too, but I don't know any other way.
